Special Exhibition Overview
1980年代的臺灣是自由奔放、充滿能量的時代，限制住臺灣人的髮禁、黨禁、報禁一個個解除，國家也解除了戒嚴，社會渴望新的事物；在這樣充滿希望的時代，國立臺灣大學也迎來新的契機，在虞兆中及孫震兩位校長溫文儒雅的治校理念中，臺大在臺灣逐漸開放的政治、社會環境下，始終維持校內獨立、自主的學術環境。
Taiwan in the 1980s was an era of freedom, dynamism, and boundless energy. Hair restrictions, Party bans, and Newspaper bans—which had constrained the Taiwanese people—were lifted one by one, and the nation also lifted martial law. Society longed for new ideas and possibilities. In this era full of hope, National Taiwan University welcomed new opportunities. Guided by the gentle and scholarly governance philosophies of Presidents Chao-Chung Yu and Chen Sun, NTU consistently maintained an independent and autonomous academic environment on campus amidst Taiwan's gradually liberalizing political and social landscape.
