Research Interests

Plant Bacteriology, Phytoplasma diseases, Molecular biology, and Biotechnology. Research focuses on the fastidious vascular-limited phytopathogenic prokaryotes, especially on the disease detection with monoclonal antibodies, cloned DNA probes and PCR techniques, and molecular genetics and biology of phytopathogenic bacteria. Procaryotes of interest include phytoplasmas associated with sweet potato witches' broom, peanut witches' broom, and rice yellow dwarf diseases; Xylella fastidiosa; Clavibacter xyli subsp. xyli; C. x. subsp. cynodontis.
