We offer both programs toward Master's and Ph.D. degree.

Master Degree

  The obligatory courses in addition to the thesis research(6 credits)for Master degree are four semesters of Seminar on Fisheries Science(A~D, 1 credit each), and two semesters of Special Topics on Fisheries Science, 2 credits each. After finishing the required course, students must submit the draft manuscript of the thesis for approval by advisor's committee before application for an oral examination. Typically it takes two years (up to 4 years in maximum) to be granted a Master degree in Life Science.

Ph.D. Degree

   Students in our Ph.D. program are obliged to obtain 18 credits of courses in addition to the 12 credits of dissertation research. Course of seminar for four semester(A~D, 1 credit each), and Special Topics on Fisheries Science for two semesters, 2 credits each, are required for Ph.D. students Students who bypass the Master program will need 30 credits of course in total before applying for qualification examination. All students must take the qualification examination within 3 years in the program before they become a Ph.D. candidate. It is demanded that the Ph.D. candidate must publish two academic papers or more, in which the candidate must be the first author with the corresponding address as the Institute of Fisheries Science . NTU. Of the two published papers at least on should be on the SCI journal list. After fulfill the above requirement and pass the dissertation examination, the students will be granted a Ph.D. degree in Life Science.
