NTU Electro-neutralization and Concentration Technology

Technology Description

The electro-neutralization and concentration (ENC) technology uses an electrically-driven module of highly energy-efficient neutralization and concentration for acidic salt-containing wastewater to separate pollutants into a relatively small-volume byproduct. This concentrated byproduct can be used as a green chemical, and the treated water stream from ENC can meet the wastewater discharge standard. The treated water could be even upgraded to the level of reclaimed water, thereby realizing a circular economy. The ENC technology can be widely applied for various wastewater, such as concentrated brine, hot spring discharge, industrial wastewater, anaerobic digestate, and livestock wastewater. The ENC technology is different from the traditional neutralization by adding additional alkaline chemicals. Therefore, the ENC technology does not require to use a remarkable amount of alkaline chemicals, and thus can avoid the large amounts of inorganic sludge and prevent the secondary pollution.

技術說明

本技術係利用一具高能源效率之電中和濃縮模組,將待處理廢水中具污染疑慮之酸類與鹽類物質,濃縮成一體積相對較小之副產品,此濃縮產品可作為綠色循環化學品,而另一股處理後排水能符合放流水排放標準,甚至升級為再生水,符合循環經濟之理念。常見含溶解性鹽類之酸類排水為工業、食品業、製造業及觀光產等部門所產生之副產品或廢水,此溶解性鹽類常見為氯鹽或鈉鹽等,酸類常見包括硫酸鹽、硝酸鹽或有機酸類等物質。傳統含溶解性鹽類排水之處理方式包括蒸發罐、混凝沉澱移除、離子交換樹脂吸附等;傳統含酸類排水之處理方式包括添加鹼劑中和等。本技術可於常溫與常壓下進行含溶解性鹽類或酸類排水之處理,有別於傳統污水處理程序例如混凝沉澱或酸鹼中和等,本技術不需額外投入化學藥劑(例如:混凝試劑、酸劑或鹼劑),係直接使用一具能源效率之電動力分離設施,濃縮分離帶處理排水中溶解性鹽類或酸類物質,並產生一處理後排水與一濃縮副產品,此處理後排水符合放流水標準,可排出至承受水體或是回收再利用;此濃縮副產品可作為綠色循環原料,供給作為其他產業之原物料。因此,本技術有別於傳統污水處理程序,避免額外投入化學藥劑手段,轉而藉由一具能源效率之電中和濃縮模組,有效分離濃縮待處理排水中溶解性鹽類或酸類物質,並產製一處理後排水(再生水)與一濃縮副產品,此濃縮副產品更可作為綠色資源,提供環境效益,並減少整體能資源使用成本。本技術可針對各種不同性質之廢水進行處理及回收,例如:濃鹽水、溫泉排水、醃漬製程排水、工業製程廢水、厭氧發酵沼液、畜牧廢水等,應用範圍廣,且能避免傳統污水處理程序之高污泥產生等問題,有效降低處置成本及後續環境衝擊疑慮;同時,本技術可將鹽類或酸類濃縮成一濃縮副產品,可再作為綠色循環原料,應用於其他產業與用途,符合循環經濟之理念。
