ENT head and neck surgery

  The Head and Neck Surgery team at NTU Veterinary Hospital is a group of medical professionals consists of the residents, interns, graduate and undergraduate veterinary students led by Dr. Liu. We provide excellent healthcare related to Head and Neck Surgery as well as ENT services for your furbabies to have a better life quality. 

Our services includes:

  • Treatments for upper respiratory tract diseases: BOAS, obstructive sleep apnea, laryngoparalysis, laryngomalacia, tumor or traumatic wound in nasal cavity/ nasopharynx/ laryngopharynx, internal medicine for rhinitis, abnormal growth of nasal concha.
  • External acoustic meatus diseases: auricular hematoma, tumor removal at eardrum/ external acoustic meatus, internal medicine for chronic external otitis or otitis media and preauricular fistula.
  • Other Head and Neck diseases: cleft lip and palate, head and neck cancer, head and neck trauma, common salivary gland diseases and facial reconstruction

 NTU Veterinary Hospital is fully equipped with advanced imaging technology ( CT Scan, MRI, Dynamic Imaging ) pairing with endoscopic evaluation ( rhinoscopy, nasopharyngealscopy, laryngeoscope and otoscope ) and pioneering surgical instruments such as laser diode. Above technology and equipments assist in increasing the accuracy of diagnosis as well as the success rate for all of our treatments. 

  Our team provides the Laser-assisted turbinectomy (LATE) that are only available for only 4 of the countries worldwide. LATE surgery is a type of surgery helps in further improving the life quality of brachycephalic dogs that have obvious nasal obstruction or those that had already underwent the general BOAS surgery. 

  • 1. Head and Neck surgery: We strictly ONLY accept booked appointment or referral patients from eligible Veterinarians. Please fill in the form provided to book an appointment. We will contact you in 7 work days ( Mon-Fri, 9a.m.-5p.m. ) to confirm about the date, time and some precaution notes before the appointments. 

     

    2. Head and Neck surgery: Our clinic is mainly based on treating head and neck diseases. Our veterinarians have the right to make referral to other departments for the patients according to their professional evaluation. Details will be discussed beforehead with the owners. For the patients of auricular diseases or nasal diseases, we strongly suggest thet the owners must consult the local veterinarians for internal medicine treatments FIRST. After the patients were confirmed to have medical record of unsuccessful treatments, then we interfere with advanced imaging technologies and surgical treatment. 


    3. First appointment and overall assesstment usually required longer time. Hence, to reduce waiting time, past medical records, scans or reports and drug used record must be mailed to ntuvhent@gmail.com or mail to the address below:

    106 Taipei City Keelung Road, section 3, No. 153 National Taiwan University ( Head and Neck Surgery ) special appointment. 

     

    4. On the day of the appointment, please refer to room 210 first to get an appointment card then only go down to the first floor to issue the registration. Please present your ID card or driver's license during the registration. Please complete the registration before the appointment time. If your number has passed, please wait patiently for the veterinarians to rearrange for your appointment.

     

    5. NTU Veterinary Hospital is a teaching hospital. Therefore, there will be experienced veterinarian assisted by resistant, interns and veterinary students during the process of consultation, evaluation, treatment and follow-ups. Consultations will be made by veterinary students or residents, then only the veterinarian will discuss the further details and treatments with the owners.

  • 1. After the form is submitted, we will contact you in 7 workdays (Mon-Fri, 9a.m.-10a.m.) and will provide you details and information about the appointment. If you do not receive our calls or emails after 7 days of submitting the form, please dial 2739-6828 ext. 2170 and confirm with us.

     

    2. Please email us the detailed medical report of the patient. If the diagnostic images were saved in discs please bring along during the appointment or mail them to 106 Taipei City Da'an District Keelung Road, Section 3, No. 153, National Taiwan University, Section of Small Animal Respiratory Tract Surgery.
