Aims & Scope
Humanitas Taiwanica is a
semi-annual (May and November), cross-disciplinary
academic journal in the humanities hosted by the College
of Liberal Arts, National Taiwan University. Since its
very first issue in 1950,
Humanitas Taiwanica has sought to publish the
finest scholarship across an extensive variety of
subjects in the humanities, and has always maintained
its highest standards of rigor and principles of fair
play in the peer review process. The journal is
committed to promoting the development of and offering
innovative perspectives on humanity studies, as well as
establishing a base for constructive dialogues to
facilitate transcultural exchange across all
disciplines. We accept research essays from a wide
spectrum of fields, including literature, history,
philosophy, art, music, theater studies, linguistics,
anthropology, library and information science, and other
humanities-related disciplines. Submitted manuscripts
are accepted all year round and must be written in
either traditional Chinese or English. We sincerely
welcome original contributions from the world academic
community.
History
Founded in 1950,
Humanitas Taiwanica was formerly known as
Bulletin of The College of Liberal Arts, National
Taiwan University.
The journal was renamed in 2000 by the College Affairs
Meeting from the NTU College of Liberal Arts in order to
transfer all of the administrative responsibilities from
each department to a special editing committee that
fosters the publication of Humanitas Taiwanica.
The committee is dedicated to gathering Taiwanese and
international leading scholars from the academic
community and to jointly establishing a new direction
that integrates research achievements across all
disciplines of humanities.
