2007年寒假經濟學卓越研究營

研究營宗旨

行政院國科會為提升國內經濟學界的研究水準，自2001年開始委託中央研究院經濟研究所舉辦經濟學卓越研究營，每年寒暑假邀請國際上重量級大師來台 開授2-3次短期課程，講授最新的研究主題與研究方法。今年度國科會委託台灣大學經學系劉錦添教授與中研院陳明郎研究員負責籌劃，目前預定1月下旬邀請 Eric Maskin(Princeton University，個體理論)，Joshua Angrist (MIT，個體計量)，6月下旬7月初邀請Robin Boadway(Queen University，公共經濟)，Ronald Findlay(Columbia University，國際經濟)等四位大師前來講學。這四位大師皆是享譽國際的學者，亦擔任國際上重要經濟學期刊的主編。相信他們的來訪，對國內經濟學 界研究水準的提升將大有幫助，並請國內博士班研究生與經濟學者踴躍參加。

講員：

Eric Maskin教授

講員簡介：

Maskin係本系黃貞穎老師在Harvard讀書時指導教授。目前是Princenton University社科院講座教授，亦是美國American Academy of Arts and Sciences, 英國British Aademy,及Econometric Society的院士。Maskin係1950年出生，1972年取得哈佛大學數學士，1974年、1976年分別得到哈佛大學應用數學碩士、博士學位。 Maskin於1976－1977年在Cambridge University擔任Research Fellow，1977年至1984年在MIT任教，1985年轉至哈佛大學任教，並於1997年榮獲Louis Berkman講座教授頭銜。2000年轉至Princenton University。

Maskin的研究貢獻包括Implementation Theory Optimal qutions, the existence of equilibrium in discontinuous games，以及repeated games。他目前擔任Social Choice and Welfare, Games an Economic Behavior, Review of Economic Design, Journal of Developing Areas, International Journal of Game Theory等重要學術等期刊的Associate Editor，以及Economics Letters期刊的主編。

Joshua D. Angrist教授

講員簡介：

Joshua D. Angrist目前是美國麻省理工學院(MIT)經濟學系教授，亦是以色列Hebrew University經濟學系教授以及NBER Research Associate。Angrist的研究領域是計量經濟，係過去十多年來最傑出的計量學家之一。他的論文發表在各大學術期刊，例如American Economic Review, Econometrica, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Politcal Economy, Review of Economic Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Labor Economics。由於在計量經濟的卓越貢獻，Angrist在1998年為Econometric Society選為年度Fellow，2004年為以色列Hebrew University of Jerusalem選為Lady Davis Fellow, 2006年分別為Society of Labor Economics，與American Academy of Arts and Sciences 選為Fellow。

Angrist曾擔任國際上重要學術刊物的編輯，這些刊物包括American Economic Review, Econometrica, Journal of Labor Economics, Economics Letters, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics。

學員報名資訊

報名錄取的優先順序：

  1. 博士班研究生
  2. 新聘博士級教學及研究人員（年資五年以內，包含第五年）。
  3. 年資五年以上的教學及研究人員（博士級）。
  4. 其他學術界人士（依先後報名順序錄取）。

報名方式：

  1. 以每位演講者的系列課程為單位，挑選報名。
  2. 採網路及通訊報名，截止日為每系列課程開課前二星期，錄取者，將以e-mail方式通知。
  3. 由於上課地點可容納學員名額有限，請儘早報名以免向隅。錄取之學員，請勿於課程中缺席。有缺席紀錄者，將影響其報名其他課程時的優先順序。

上課費用：

本經濟學卓越研究營為完全免費的教學課程，但參與者必須事先報名。

國立台灣大學社會科學院（台北市徐州路21號），上課教室視報名人數再公佈。

About “Econ Camp”

In order to further raise the quality of Taiwan’s economic research, the National Science Council has since 2001 requested Academia Sinica to hold Winter and Summer lecture series during the two academic breaks. The purpose of the events is to invite international scholars of high regard to share with the local academic community their latest findings and newly developed techniques. Each scholar typically gives a course of 2 or 3 lectures, resulting in a more in-depth presentation of techniques and findings than is usually possible in typical conference presentations. This year, the official organizers are Professor Jin-Tan Liu and Dr. Been-Long Chen. Lecturers included are Eric Maskin and Joshua Angrist for the Winter session and Robin Boadway and Ronald Findlay for the summer session. We are sure that visits from outstanding academics such as these have and will continue to be of great benefit to Taiwanese academicians and students.
