Yu-Hsiang Cheng 鄭宇翔 Associate Professor |
Yu-Hsiang Cheng was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1987. He received the double B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics from National Taiwan University in 2011 (Presidential Award for 8 semesters). In the fall semester in 2009, he studied at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as an exchange student. He received the M.S. degree in Photonics and Optoelectronics from National Taiwan University in 2013. He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute Technology in 2019. He joined Department of Electrical Engineering and Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering at National Taiwan University in 2019 and Graduate Institute of Photonics and Optoelectronics in 2025, where he is currently an associate professor. His research interests include terahertz electronics and ultrafast spectroscopy. Up to 2025, Prof. Cheng has published 18 journal papers and 63 conference papers, including 6 paper awards, 5 travel grants, 4 invited talks, and 3 news highlights. Prof. Cheng received incentives for newly hired exceptional talents from 2019 to 2022, Excellence in Teaching Award in 2025, EECS Academic Contribution Award in 2025, and Excellent Industry-Academia Collaboration Project Award in 2025. Prof. Cheng is the IEEE senior member, the IEEE AP-Society Taipei Chapter Chair from 2025 to 2027, and the affiliate member of IEEE MTT Technical Committee 21. In addition to research and teaching, Prof. Cheng loves triathlon, volleyball, calligraphy, amateur radio (call sign: BU2GD), anime, games, and traveling.
鄭宇翔教授於2011年獲得台大電機系與物理系雙學位學士(獲八學期書卷獎)，曾於2009年至美國伊利諾大學香檳分校交換一學期，2013年自台大光電所碩士班畢業，並於2019年取得美國麻省理工學院電機博士。2019年加入台大電機系及台大電信所，2025年加入台大光電所，目前擔任副教授。研究領域為太赫茲電路元件以及超快光譜學，至今(2025)已發表十八篇期刊論文及六十三篇會議論文，其中包含六次學生論文獎、五次會議旅費補助、四次受邀國際會議演講及三次新聞專題報導研究成果。鄭教授曾獲國立臺灣大學新聘特殊優秀人才獎勵、113學年度國立臺灣大學教學優良獎、114年度電機資訊學院學術貢獻獎、國科會工程處114年度產學合作計畫成果優良獎。鄭宇翔教授是國際電子電機學會資深會員，2025至2027擔任天線與傳播台北支會主席，IEEE MTT-S 太赫茲技術委員會附屬會員。除了研究教學外，鄭教授喜歡鐵人三項運動、排球、書法、業餘無線電(呼號BU2GD)、動漫、遊戲以及旅行。
