Dr. Liang-Gee Chen is our professor. DSPIC lab is a world class R&D (Research and Development) center, which targets for multimedia application and hardware/system architecture design. Lab members include 5 Ph.D. students, and 2 master students. Up to now, 49 Ph.D.s and over hundred masters graduated from our lab. They have made great contributions to both IC industry and academic area.

Prof. Liang-Gee Chen is the first doctor in CAD (Computer Aid Design) research In Taiwan. In 1988, He joined the faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering in NTU (National Taiwan University). After deep inquiry and exploration, he selected DSP (Digital Signal Processing) hardware and system design as the research topic. In 1992, our group designed the first academic VLSI chip in Taiwan, and the chip worked successfully. Because of Prof. Chen's prominent contributions, he was awarded IEEE fellow in 2001 and Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Circuits and Systems in 2001-2002. In these years, he served as the director of several significant organizations, including the SOC center in NTU, the GIEE (Graduate Institute of Electronics Engineering) in NTU and the ERSO (Electronics Research & Service Organization) in ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute).
