![]() ![]() Cymbidium
kanran x C. dayanum Primary hybrids of east Asian Cymbidium species have gained appreciation neither from Western orchid enthusiasts because of the smaller flower size, nor from Eastern orchidists because of their "dull" flower shape. However, some of them are quite pretty and it is really interesting to see how different they are from their parents. They are usually robust and easy growing in urban northern Taiwan where some species such as Cym. kanran barely survive. They usually bloom between their parents flowering season. Therefore, some would produce flowers twice a year. Unfortunately, often time they failed on inheriting the fragrance from their parents. |
