Our current research endeavors to understand the biological, chemical and physical interactions in the surface environment. The research areas include

1. The roles of the surfaces of environmental particles (including clay, oxide, black carbon and organic matter) in determining the fates of  plant nutrients and contaminants in soil and water

2. Plant-microbia-soil interactions in controlling the availabilities of nutrients and contaminants in soil
