About
Me
I am a public health
ethicist and health policy researcher. I received my PhD in Health Services
Research & Health Policy (Political Science Track) from Emory University,
GA, USA.
Research
My research interests
lie at the intersection of ethics, political science, and health policy. Recent
works develop a theory of global health ethics grounds on what I called the
¡§reconciliatory solidarity,¡¨ which connects people¡¦s health and well-being to
historical injustice and present conflicts at both domestic and global levels.
This normative theory informs the following series of ongoing empirical studies
on political violence prevention and welfare state consolidation.
In March 2024, I
published The Boundary Revisited:
Solidarity, Sustainability, and Public Health Ethics in Democracy [«ªðÃä¬É¡G¥Á¥D¬Fªv¤¤ªº¹Îµ²¡B¥ÃÄò»P¤½¦@½Ã¥ÍÛ²z] (Kaohsiung: Chuliu
Books), a monograph on public health ethics and professional ethics of public
health. My work is published in American
Journal of Public Health, Journal of
Health Politics, Policy and Law, Public
Health Ethics, Health Care Analysis,
BMJ Global Health, International Journal of Social Determinants
of Health and Health Services, and Taiwan
Journal of Public Health, among others. The list of my academic publications
is available here.
I edited two volumes
of popular science writing. Health Equity
as Freedom: Populations, Technologies, and Policymaking in Formosan Public
Health [°·±d¤½¥»P¦Û¥Ñ¡G¤½¦@½Ã¥Í¤¤ªº¸sÅé¡B¬ì§Þ»P¨Mµ¦] (Kaohsiung: Chuliu
Books) is a handbook of contemporary public health issues in Taiwan. In the Name of Health: Unpacking 10 Ethical
Dilemmas of Public Health Policies [¥H°·±d¤§¦W¡H10¹D¤½½Ã¬Fµ¦Û²zÃøÃD¡A°ö¾i¤½¥Á«ä¿ë¤O] (New Taipei: Linking
Books) published is a public health ethics readers¡¦ companion.
A note on my research
philosophy is available here.
