Theme of the Conference

Initiated in 2006, the NTU International Theatre Conference is held every two years.  In 2008, the conference will to focus its theme on exploring new vistas in theatre practice and theatre criticism.  It is hoped that the participants of the conference will share their views on recent developments in playwriting, directing, stage practices, and cross-media/cross-cultural experimentations.  In addition, new directions and methodologies in theatre/dramatic criticism will also be the focal point of the conference.

The conference will explore two types of theatre: the traditional Taiwanese and Chinese theatre and modern (western-style) theatre.
