Occupational therapy

My colleagues and I are interested in developing evaluation tools for individuals with
moderate or severe physical disabilities, to assess their work performance and plan
their work-related treatment and training. At present, we are collecting the data
regarding the factors influencing the abilities of such individuals to perform
independently in the community or gain some form of employment. We are
standardizing the physical capacity evaluation, which we developed on the basis of
the Dictionary of Occupational Titles. We are also investigating the use of the Jacobs
Prevocational Skills Assessment, the McCarron Assessment of Neuromuscular
Development, and the Skills Assessment Module for evaluation of patients with
physical disabilities. Our goal is to identify correlations between the evaluation results
and the performance and treatment outcomes of people with physical disabilities.
