Taiwan's Social Movements under Ma Ying-Jeou: From the Wild Strawberries to the Sunflowers

This speech base on the new book “Taiwan's Social Movements under Ma Ying-Jeou” edited by Dafydd J. Fell. In this book, authors compiled movements in Taiwan across 2008 to 2016, and analyzed the origin and the result of different movements which demonstrate the huge energy of Taiwan civil society. This book organized the movements, the tense relationship between government and society, and give us an insight regarding the development of democracy and human rights issue in Taiwan.
