Manuscript Style Guide


1.Abstract: The abstract must be within one A4 page, printed in both Chinese and English and a list of keywords not exceeding 5.

2.Main text: Double space in first line of every paragraph and three spaces for quoted passage.

3.Annotation:
 
a.The annotation should be in successive number of Aribian numerical system.

b.Footnote must be at the bottom of every page separated by black line.

c.Please use the following patterns for Chinese texts as primary and secondary sources:
 
i.Primary Sources:
隋.釋智顗,《妙法蓮華經玄義》卷5上,《大正藏》冊33,頁730下。
ii.Secondary Sources:
釋印順,《以佛法研究佛法》(臺北:正聞出版社,1992年),頁34。
iii.Articles:
楊惠南,〈智顗的二諦思想〉,《佛學研究中心學報》4期(1999年),頁20-30。
iv.One can avoide name and number while using Buddhist texts or ancient texts, for example 《妙法蓮華經.方便品》. Full name, publication information and page number of the text or article should be cited while first application, whereas the abbreviated name for text or article is allowed afterwards.

4.For secondary sources in English, please follow Chiense, Japanese or Korean pattern. For primary sources, please follow the guidelines of The Manual of Style volume 14th, published in 1993. An example is given for reference as bellow:
 

 Shih, Heng-Ching. "Yung-ming's Syncretic Thought of Pure Land and Ch'an," Journal of the International Association of Buddhist Studies. Madison, Wis: 1987, v. 10 n. 1, pp. 117-134.


 All contributors are requested to use Microsft Word 97 or higher version, please avoid any personal writing style. A manuscript saved in compact disc is recommended to send to us.
