RBCLAB
(Real Business Cycles Laboratory)
This page
contains discrete dynamic programming programs for graduate macroeconomics.
Rbclab program: RbcLab Setup.exe (updated on 9/23/2011)
RbcLab with GSview: RbcLab and GSView Setup.exe (same
as above with GSview included)
Notes:
- RBCLAB solves RBC model and its
variants using discrete state space method. It runs on Windows XP and
Windows 7.
- Uninstall previous version if
you have older one. To install, simply click the setup executable. The
default program folder is C:\RbcLab,
which you may change at the installation time. The default working
folder is C:\RbcLab\Work,
which you may change at runtime.
- The installation creates a start
menu RBCLAB. There are four shortcuts in RBCLAB: (1) RBC (Real Business
Cycles) model (2) CKR (Cass-Koopmans-Ramsey) model (3) RBC model with
fiscal policy, (4) uninstall RBCLAB.
- RBCLAB generates plots in
various formats (using free graphics library DISLIN written by Helmut Michels). You need Acrobat reader to view and print
PDF files. The second setup program will install GSview
on your computer if you don't have one installed. GSview
(and Ghostscript) is recommended to view and
print postscript (and PDF) files. You may bypass Ghostscript
and GSview setup at the installation time.
- Help/Menu is not ready at this
time. Running the program should be straightforward.
