Cymbidium goeringii var. serratum
Cymbidium formosanum

Distribution: Taiwan, Japan, south west China
Flower size: 5cm in diameter; solitary

Cymbidium goeringii is a very variable species, especially those native in Taiwan. Therefore, in the market you can easily find interesting variants in flower color, shape and in the breadth of the leaves. This species has been cultivated in China thousand years ago. Its sweet scent and elegant plant shape is a symbol of perfect personality and the quality of a superb person. In Taiwan it is less popular than Cym. ensifolium and Cym. sinense because of its less tolerance to the humid summer in urban Taiwan. However, with a little care, it can grow and bloom normally.
