Kuo-chun YEH obtained B.A.
degrees in liberal arts and economics from National Taiwan University in
1992. After two years of military
service, he passed the civil servant exam to deal with cross-strait
investment at Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council. From 1998 to 2003 he obtained MSc at
KU Leuven and a Doctoral degree at Universiteit Antwerpen,
Belgium. Since 2003 he has taught
at National Chung Cheng University (2003-15) and then transferred to National
Taiwan University (2015-), and published a book, numerous peer-review
chapters, and papers on international journals and books. His work focuses mainly on the EU-East
Asia and Taiwan-China exchanges.
In addition to the NTU office, he was invited as the Director of
Financial Research Institute, Taiwan Academy of Banking & Finance
(2011-12) and a Visiting Scholar at Asian Development Bank Institute (2010),
Universität Hamburg (2012, 2016), European Institute for Asian Studies
(2015), and University Tartu (2019).
In 2017-18, he was elected as Taiwan Chair at Universiteit Gent and Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Now he is Program Coordinator for
Mainland China Studies, NTU (2018-), and EU Jean Monnet Chair (2021-) nominated
by the European Commission.
