摘要 |
Objective: To identify predictors for treatment outcomes after home-based 69 constraint-induced therapy in children with cerebral palsy. Methods: Forty-three children (aged 4-12 years) with cerebral palsy were treated with individualized constraint-induced therapy at home for 4 weeks. Potential predictors were age, sex, affected hand, and upper extremity motor capacity measured by the Peabody Developmental Motor Scale-2nd edition. Outcomes were Pediatric Motor Activity Log-Amount of Hand Use and Quality of Hand Use subscales and the Functional Independence Measure for Children. Results: A higher Peabody Developmental Motor Scale-Visual-Motor Integration subscale score predicted a better Functional Independence Measure for Children score after home-based constraint-induced therapy (adjusted R2 = 0.35). Younger age predicted better performance in the Pediatric Motor Activity Log-Amount of Hand Use and Quality 80 of Hand Use (adjusted R2 = 0.06-0.08) after home-based constraint-induced therapy. Conclusion: The
potential predictors may allow occupational therapists to target those 82
children who will benefit most after home-based constraint-induced therapy. |
