Linguists
and languages for 4-minute presentation
Assignment:
Give a two-minute report on (1) a famous linguist of your choice; include
mention of his or her nationality, and major contributions to linguistics;
and (2) immediately following, a two-minute report on the language with the
same number as the linguist you choose (or conversely, you may pick the language
first and take the linguist with the same number); tell what branch of which
language family the language belongs to; where it is spoken; approximately
how many speakers it has; and mention three or so key characteristics of the
language.
The
pages in the textbook on which you will present are also given here for your convenience.
