高等材料力學 Advanced Strength of Materials

Course Descriptions:

In the Strength of Materials course (2nd year) we use clever assumptions to simplify complicated problems in solid mechanics. For instance, we assume the plane normal cross section in a beam remains plane and normal after bending deformation occurs. In so doing the complicated 3D mechanics problem (which should be treated in the graduate course Linear Elasticity) is reduced to a tractable 1D problem. In this course, we follow the same approach and expand the content we have learned in Strength of Material, including the important 2D plate and shell problems.
