European & EU Studies Program

Course Map / Curriculum / Application

Students choose from one of the three schemes below and take the compulsory courses of the chosen scheme. Each scheme consists of 24 credits, including European language courses and professional courses.
學生依照A B C三種方案擇一申請後,搭配方案必修課程修課。每一方案必修皆為24學分,分為歐語課程及專業課程:

European Culture Highlight Scheme

14 credits of compulsory European language courses, and 10 credits of compulsory Professional courses.

Diversified European Language Scheme

12 credits of compulsory European language courses, and 12 credits of compulsory Professional courses.

EU Studies Scheme

12 credits of compulsory European language courses, and 12 credits of compulsory EU Professional courses (should at least take 4 professional courses from the appointed list).

Application Information

How to Apply

    Who can apply

  • Qualifications for Schemes A & B

    Students shall be currently enrolled in NTU,shall have passed two semesters of at least one advanced European language course (such as French III, German III etc.), or are currently studying one of the courses.

    Note: Students who have not completed the aforementioned courses, but have passed the European language certifications approved by local or foreign institutions with B1 level or above shall provide both the original and a photocopy of the certificate in the application. The original will be returned after examination.

  • Qualifications for Scheme C

    Students shall be currently enrolled in NTU,shall have at least passed one of the “introductory courses”, or are currently studying one of the courses.

    Note: Students completing similar courses in other universities or institutions shall provide the transcript in the application.

    Application Procedures

  • 1.Application Date

    Students shall file an online application first via myNTU (see the link at the top) then submit a copy of the transcript along with the printed application form to their department office (those who are currently taking the introductory courses shall submit a copy of the course timetable). With the approval of the Chair of department, the application form and the transcript shall be sent to the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures on the first week of the second semester. The result will be announced on the second week.

  • 2.Complete the Program

  • 3.Program Certificate

    Students who have taken the required number of credits and have passed the courses, shall fill out the certificate application form of the chosen scheme (see the link at the top), and submit it to the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures along with the Chinese and English transcripts.

  • Note

    Note 1: Please highlight the program courses on the Chinese and English transcripts.
    Note 2: The certification procedure shall take 7-10 working days.

  • Students shall be currently enrolled in NTU, shall have at least passed one of the “introductory courses”, or are currently studying one of the courses.

    Note: Students completing similar courses in other universities or institutions shall provide the transcript in the application.

    1. Program courses are not limited to, but some are given priority to program students. Other students shall fulfill the course requirements before taking the course. The curriculum planning will be adjusted according to the cooperating departments.
    2. Credit Verification and Compensation: Before enrolling in the program, students can apply for credit compensation for non-program courses. The compensated credits shall not be more than half of the compulsory Professional courses.
    3. Students who have not completed the required courses in the program before graduation, but will continue to study a master’s degree can complete the program during the study period.
    4. Program courses are not limited to, but some are given priority to program students. Other students shall fulfill the course requirements before taking the course. The curriculum planning will be adjusted according to the cooperating departments.
