Author Guidelines

Delegates who have submitted abstracts that are selected for an oral or poster presentation are invited to submit full papers for publication in the next volume of Diseases in Asian Aquaculture. All papers will be peer reviewed prior to publication. Two mechanisms can be selected for submission of the manuscript.

  • It will be appreciated if you can bring your MS (as .doc or .pdf file) on the CD/ DVD Rom or USB storage device to DAA VII.
  • The MS (in .doc or .pdf format) can also be sending electronically to daaseven@gmail.com by 30 September, 2008.

General rules

  • Manuscripts should be written in English. Authors who are concerned about their English usage should have their manuscript proofread/ previewed by a person proficient in English. English that is difficult to read may be returned to the author for correction and resubmission before being sent out for scientific review.
  • Manuscripts should be typewritten and all pages should be numbered. Each line should be double spaced and the lines should be numbered sequentially throughout the MS. This also applies to the abstract, footnotes and references.
  • Species names and other Latin terms should be typed in italics.
  • SI units should be used.
  • The manuscript should be formatted as a single column and saved as .doc or .pdf file. Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. Do not embed any table or figure into the main text. However, tables and figures should be properly labeled and accurately referenced in the text.

Tables

  • Large table should be avoided. As a rough guide, tabular data will need to fit comfortably within the print area of an A4-sized page.
  • Tables should be numbered sequentially throughout the MS.
  • All tables should be displayed on separate pages of the manuscript. Please do not embed them in the text.
  • The title and the column heading of the table should be descriptive but concise.
  • Any information required for understanding the table should be given at the bottom of the table as a footnote.

Figures

  • Save your original artwork in a format that is compatible with MS word (i.e. .JPG, .GIF, or TIF format).
  • Use only following fonts within the figure: Arial, Courier, Helvetica, Times, Symbol.
  • Number the figures sequentially throughout the MS.
  • All figures can be provided as separate files or on separate pages.
  • The figure legends should be provided on separate pages.
  • Generated figures should be close to their expected print size in the published journal. If the figures become illegible after re-sizing, the authors will be asked to resubmit the figure with improved quality.
  • A scale bar should be included if it is necessary.

Legends

  • Do not attach the legend to the figure. Legends should be provided on separate pages. After a brief descriptive title, the text of the legend should be kept to a minimum, but please explain all symbols and abbreviations used.
