芙蘭切活動量表(Frenchay Activities Index, FAI) 為一評量中風病人
生活型態之量表，其項目含括較高階層之社會生活能力。本研究驗證
FAI量表應用於台灣中風病人之信度及效度。189 位出院超過半年之
高 (Cronbach's alpha = 0.90)。因素分析顯示：FAI具有一個共同的建構
(construct)可用來評量中風病人的生活型態。病人於FAI量表得分與
巴索氏量表(Barthel Index) 得分呈顯著相關 (r = 0.66, p < 0.001)。
本研究結果顯示：FAI量表項目具備內在一致性及建構效度，適於評量
中風病人之生活型態。

The Frenchay Activities Index (FAI) has been developed specially for
measuring life style in stroke patients. This instrument evaluates activities
that reflect a higher level of social function. The purpose of the study was to
investigate reliability and validity of the FAI in Taiwan. One-hundred-and-eighty-nine
stroke patients participated in the telephone survey. The internal
consistency of the FAI was high (Cronbach's alpha = 0.90). Factor analysis
indicated that all items of the FAI had a common underlying construct.
The score of the FAI was closely correlated with that of the Barthel index
(r = 0.66). The preliminary results of this study show that the internal
consistency of the FAI is sufficient and that construct validity of the FAI is
well supported. The FAI is appropriate for measuring life style in stroke patients.
