To apply
Applicants must be over 18 years old. The applicants are required to have completed
at least high school education. Please prepare the necessary
application forms and the related documents (written in Chinese or English) and bring them over to our Chinese language division in person, or
send them before the deadline (Applications with a postmark dated later than the deadline will not be processed).
The necessary documents are listed below:
1. Application Form
2. High school or higher education diploma or transcripts photocopy.
(* The diploma and the the transcript should be verified by the ROC
consulates, embassies, or other representative offices official agencies
authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; English or Chinese translation
shall be supplied if documents are not written in these two language. )
3. A financial statement within the last three months certifying that the
applicant has sufficient means to study in the ROC (bank certificate, bank
passbook ). The applicants should have at least US$2500 in the bank.
4. Three photo shots
15 working days are required to process and verify the all the documents. If the applicant is accepted, we will send an
admission letter by registered mail. Those who have received the letter should register and pay the fees (application fee, tuition, etc.) on the registration day.
Registration
Those who have received an admission letter should register on the registration day. The registration date is one week before
the class starts. All registrations must now be made on site at the registration area on the date stated in
the admission letter.

Please bring the following required materials with you in person on the registration day:
1. Admission letter
2. Passport (for verification), Photocopies of passport (with the photograph
and the name clearly visible) and visa
3. Registration, tuition and insurance fees (should be paid in cash)
4. Certificate of medical insurance which is taken in students' home countries
and which is effective for at least 4 months since the day of entering R.O.C.
5. For scholarship students, please submit related official documents along
with your passport on the registration day in order to have the scholarship
application procedure proceeding on time.

Applicants who are awarded a scholarship from the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should take note that only after a student finishes the registration can our division assist the student in applying for the scholarship. It might take
6 to 8 weeks before a student receives his/her money. Therefore, students need to have enough funding to pay the first month’s tuition and living expenses.
Placement Test
After completing the registration, a placement test will be given. The test is divided into a written and an oral test.
According to the results of the placement test, each student is placed in a Chinese class which
suits best to his/her linguistic ability. The written test lasts for an hour, and the oral test lasts for 5 to 10 minutes. A student who hasn’t learned any Mandarin doesn’t need to take the test.
