摘要 Abstract of the paper	This paper examines Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility (ECSR) strategies, aiming to abate pollution emissions, in a pure private duopoly and a mixed duopoly under two regimes: a noncooperative regime and cooperative regime. We assume that the two firms produce differentiated products, competing in Cournot fashion, and the ECSR strategies will increase consumers’ willingness-to-pay. Our results suggest that both firms will engage in abatement activities in all cases. This result is in sharp contrast to Hirose et al. (2020), in which no firms adopt ECSR. We also find that the noncooperative regime yields lower emissions levels and higher social welfare levels than the cooperative regime in both pure and mixed duopoly. Additionally, the emissions level is the lowest (highest) under the noncooperative (cooperative) regime in the mixed (pure private) duopoly.
