摘要 Abstract of the Paper	We construct a trading framework wherein a vertically integrated producer (VIP) faces independent rivals in upstream and downstream markets to investigate its superior management structure between centralization and decentralization. By allowing the possibility that the VIP can strategically purchase input rather than sell it in the upstream market, we find that the latter structure is profit-superior to the former. Next, adopting the arm’s length principle results in an outcome where decentralization is preferred when the VIP's marginal cost is in middle range, whereas centralization is more advantageous when the marginal cost is either low or high.
