摘要 Abstract of the paper	We use a two-periods model to investigate the effect of Repair Clause on the quality of durable goods, the profit of durable goods monopolist, the consumer surplus, and social welfare. We find that Repair Clause will not affect the quality level of durable goods. Moreover, Repair Clause increases the profit of durable goods monopolist since it helps the monopolist to differentiate high willingness to pay consumers and low willingness to pay consumers. Finally, we show that Repair Clause does not necessarily increase the consumer surplus and social welfare depending on the quality of aftermarkets parts and the marginal production cost of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) parts.
