The right to repairs and the
repairs clause suggest that consumers should have the right to use spare
parts or services provided by any firms to repair or modify their consumed products. In the absence of the repair
clause the original product manufacturers can monopolize their aftermarket
services by enforcing IPR. In other words, the consumer can only use the spare
parts or services provided by the original manufacturers. |
