摘要	Stronger southern patent protection may not increase the profit of the northern firm and northern welfare. The southern firms may prefer southern patent protection in order to protect their innovations. We also show that there might be a conflict of interests between the countries and the firms about southern patent protection. There may be situations where all the parties are better off under no southern patent protection.
