論文提要

The purpose of this paper is to study the patentee’s optimal policy in Bertrand competition where firms’ products are substitutes but not homogeneous. Assume that the patentee is an outsider, under the auction licensing and fixed-fee game, only one firm gets a license by a random choice. Both firms will buy the license under the royalty payment r with r < ε. A principal finding is that for a patentee the royalty may be superior to the other two policies when innovations are not very large.

研究建議

我們將Muto (1993)的架構延伸至空間模型中，利用Barbell spatial model 來表示兩國兩廠商兩市場模型，藉由空間障礙將降低產業內雙占廠商進行價格競爭的程度，討論產業外廠商的最適授權方式。當空間障礙愈大時，廠商區域獨占的力量愈強，獨占利潤增加，授權廠商愈有可能採取固定權利金的授權方式。延伸文章所得到的結果，建議能夠解析出空間障礙在固定權利金與單位權利金授權方式下的效果。兩個市場的需求函數改成異質需求的設定，當空間障礙等於零時，可以跟 Muto (1993) 互相連結。
