| 簡介： |
Conducting “Modern Tibetan Studies” is not an easy task. The words “modern Tibet” represents something that is so complex and diverse that it confounds observers, and this diversity has for long years precludes the establishment of Modern Tibetan Studies as an Area Studies. This presentation tries to probe the actual structure of this diversity. I will provide the concept of “substitutive ethnography” that characterizes the academic situation of the study, will try to reflecting on the history of Modern Tibetan Studies in general and anthropological studies on Tibet in particular.
